Tell Senator Blunt: Support Sanctions Against Russia!
Start: Wednesday, February 07, 2018•12:00 PM
End: Wednesday, February 07, 2018• 1:00 PM
The question of Russian “kompromat” on Trump remains unanswered after o months of inquiry. In July 2017 Congress passed sanctions on Russia as punishment for their election meddling in 2016; of 535 members of Congress, only 5 voted no.
Recognizing the veto proof majority, but against his own desire, President Trump signed the bill. The bill required sanctions be implemented by January 30, 2018.
Unfortunately, on Tuesday 1/30/18, the administration had not implemented this law - claiming it unnecessary because existing sanctions already are deterring further Russian meddling. However the law was not written as a deterrent but as punishment. Additionally, the CIA director this week said that there was no evidence that Russia has stopped interfering and even continues to accelerate its efforts in 2018.
Continued support of the special prosecutor’s investigation is vital to unearthing the full story about Russia’s covert and overt actions in Trump’s campaign and election and what will be necessary to protect ourselves in the future. MULLER'S INVESTIGATION MUST CONTINUE WITHOUT INTERFERENCE.
We're asking Senator Blunt to:
1) Support the rule of law by condemning the Nunes memo circus and expressing confidence in the integrity of the FBI
2) Issue a statement condemning Trump's refusal to enforce sanctions against Russia, an act Senator McCaskill has deemed a Constitutional Crisis.
