As thousands of people around the world take to the streets for a second week of protests against police brutality and racism, we have started to see growing demands to defund and abolish the police. To help guide the organizing many of us have been doing in the streets, the political education committee will be hosting a series of night schools focused on The End of Policing by Alex S. Vitale.
The schedule will be as follows:
Sunday, June 14th @ 6pm: Chapter 1 and Keeanga-Yahmatta Taylor's "Of Course There Are Protests. The State is Failing Black People." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/29/opinion/george-floyd-minneapolis.html
Sunday, June 21 @ 6pm: Chapters 2 - 4.
Sunday, June 28 @ 6pm: Chapters 5 - 7
Sunday, July 5 @ 6pm: Chapters 8 -10 and conclusion
The End of Policing is currently a free ebook available from Verso.

We believe these night schools will help serve as a space for critical inquiry as many of us to continue the fight for black lives and a world without police. We hope to see you there!
