This is a virtual event

The black business is a principal means of black employment and wealth accumulation which means black companies must be supported and sustained. Evidence from recent disparity studies for both the State of North Carolina and the City of Greensboro document practices that exclude black business participation at grossly alarming levels, placing the well-being of black communities at risk.

In Part III of the Green Color Line, area experts join us to discuss the impact of governmental agencies exclusion of black businesses on health and hunger disparities in the black community.

The Labor and Industry Committee of the Greensboro Branch NAACP is committed to addressing inequities in public contracting. They will host a series of virtual community conversations to finally bring those who are impacted the most into the dialogue. These discussions will give participants a practical understanding of disparities in public spending, its connection to the many disparities seen and felt in their committees, and constructive actions they can take to effect long-overdue change.
