We’re often told by defenders of the status quo that proportional voting systems are connected to greater levels of political instability. This in spite of numerous democracies that use PR exhibiting high levels of political stability.

So much has this assertion become part of the electoral reform debate in the UK, that it is often even accepted as a necessary trade-off by those of us who support PR.

So… The stability compromise: real or imagined? (Spoiler: it’s imagined.)

But don’t just take our word for it!

Join us online on Tuesday 12th March at 8pm as we launch our latest report, expanded and updated to the end of 2023, categorically debunking this myth.

We’ll hear from:

  • Cat Smith MP, who contributed a foreword to the report

  • Dylan Difford, independent researcher and author of the report

And there’ll be plenty of opportunities to get questions from you, too.

We look forward to welcoming you!
