In early October, twenty CTU members raised funds to travel to Oaxaca, Mexico to learn from other educators across Canada, the United States, Mexico and several other locations. Teachers, clinicians and paraprofessionals shared experiences of how neoliberal education disruptions have impacted their work and the lives of their students and families. They shared strategies for resisting the attack on public education throughout our hemisphere. They engaged in solidarity actions and camaraderie with education activists both familiar and new to them.
