Truth Commission Report-Back and Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival Meeting
Start: Friday, February 23, 2018• 5:30 PM
End: Friday, February 23, 2018• 8:30 PM
Back in September, Long Islanders gathered together to share their stories and experiences of poverty and related injustices, as well as their stories of resistance. This was part of a series of events around New York State connected to the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, and the testimonies gathered have been compiled into a report, available at nytruthcommission.org
Join us Friday, February 23, 5:30 pm at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Parish Center for a presentation and discussion of the report, as well as an introduction to the New York State Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Join us to learn about the campaign and how to get involved on Long Island.
We'll start with a meal at 5:30 and begin the program at 6.
If you're able to arrive a little early and volunteer to help with set-up, greeting, or other logistics, please indicate this on the form.
We hope you'll join us for this important next step in building the movement to end poverty, racism, militarism and ecological devastation!
