Currently 340,000 teamsters are in contract negotiations with UPS. This is the largest contract in the United States. DSA has launched a strike ready campaign to help get chapters ready for the strike, organize themselves and community support.

We have taken the first step at the last general membership meeting by getting DSA members at the last chapter membership meeting to pledge to show solidarity with UPS teamsters should they go on strike August 1st. At this meeting we will work out what we can accomplish in mobilizing the chapter and building community support in the remaining time till August 1st and set up a preliminary plan of action before the labor working group meeting on July 11th.
