A potentially generation-defining contract struggle is currently unfolding between the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) and logistics giant, United Parcel Service (UPS).

With nearly 350,000 Teamster employees, moving up to 6% of the US GDP and 2% of global GDP, UPS is the single largest unionized employer in the United States and a key point of leverage on the entire economy.

The current UPS-IBT Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on August 1st, and the UPS Teamsters are gearing up to strike on that date. When they do strike, they will need the whole labor movement behind them to show that when we fight, we win!

DSA stands in unwavering solidarity with workers and prioritizes labor solidarity work, which is why DSA Labor has launched its Strike Ready campaign to support the UPS Teamsters in their contract fight!

Our chapter has joined the fight and will be hosting a UPS Teamsters Strike Solidarity event this Saturday, July 8th from 2 to 4pm at the Friends Quaker Meeting House in Lake Worth! This family-friendly event will include speakers, free food, trivia, and raffle prizes, and will be a great opportunity to meet other Palm Beach DSA members and learn how to get involved in the nascent labor movement!
