UW Solidarity Rally - Board of Regents

Start: Thursday, August 22, 202411:00 AM

The UW System has faced devastating budget cuts, attacks on faculty, grad student, and staff rights, and a disregard for student success. Our campus Chancellors have ignored us for too long. We can't stand by while our campuses are closed, our programs are eliminated, our colleagues are laid off, and graduate workers must pay exorbitant fees every semester in order to work. We are taking action. This spring we launched a solidarity sign on letter that over 500 people have already signed.

Join us at the Board of Regents meeting in Madison August 22nd at 11am.
We demand:

  • Respect to the rights of faculty, grad students, and staff to exercise their collective voice through their union
  • To agreeing to legal meet and confer relationships with the elected leadership of faculty, grad student, and staff AFT-Wisconsin chapters when they ask administration for it, and engage in good faith efforts to exchange ideas about improving campus working conditions and student learning conditions
  • To refrain from engaging in efforts to intimidate faculty, grad students, and staff from joining and getting involved with their union
  • A cease and desist of efforts to eliminate academic programs, lay off faculty and staff like the proposed layoffs to UW Milwaukee at Waukesha, and reduce academic options for students without the explicit support of faculty, grad students, and staff on those campuses

Your voice matters! RSVP to show your support for a strong UW System.
