In California, immigrants and asylum seekers who've served time, can be transferred upon their release to ICE's abusive and unsafe detention facilities and ultimately be deported. OC leads the state in ICE transfers. This is an unjust form of double punishment that can be ended with the passage of the VISION Act (AB 937). Join OC DSA's Defund the Police committee on August 24 at 6 pm to phone OC's key state senators and to tweet support for the Act, tagging the senators and others.
