Volunteer Workday: Burke Littersweep!
Start: Tuesday, March 26, 2024•10:00 AM
End: Tuesday, March 26, 2024•12:00 PM
Join us for a quick cleanup of Watermill Rd. as part of Burke County's Chamber of Commerce's Annual Litter Sweep!
Volunteers will meet in the Oak Hill Community Park & Forest parking lot and sign in. After a brief introduction and handing out supplies, we will hop in an FCNC truck and trailor for a short ride down the road to the start of the section of Watermill Rd. between hwys 181 and 126. Volunteers will be split into 2 groups and start from either end on opposite sides of the road. FCNC will have vehicles parked at both ends to shuttle volunteers back to the park.
How to prepare: Please wear close-toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty (accidents happen!) Bring a daypack for water or other items you may want to have on you. And be prepared to walk +/- 2 miles on the road side.
FCNC will provide a safety talk, gloves, trash bags/grabbers and have snacks and waters available!
