Project Description: Students from the NC School of Science and Math have been transforming Foothills Conservancy's office space into a wildlife habitat for the last year! Come help them put the finishing touches on our gardens so we can officially certify our yard as a Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation.

The Plan: Park anywhere in the parking lot and/or the neighboring parking lots on either side of the FCNC office. We will meet in the front yard and have a brief introduction. Then volunteers can choose from a variety of tasks including: spreading mulch, pulling weeds, planting flowers & native grasses, edging garden beds with river rock, filling bird feeders, collecting compost, and more!

How to Prepare: Please wear close toed shoes and plan to be outside for 2 hours. Foothills will have extra sunscreen, but you may want to wear a hat or other sun protection. There are tasks for people of all ages and abilities - so you can drop in for a while or stay the whole time!

Note: Work gloves, safety goggles, ear plugs, training, tools, first aid, snacks & water are provided by Foothills Conservancy for all volunteer events.
