End: Sunday, September 22, 2019• 4:00 PM
The title of this rally and march is "We want to see it right now! A nationwide gathering in Nagoya to demand the reinstatement of the “Lack-of-Freedom-of-Expression Exhibit: Part II” ( 今すぐ見たぁい!『表現の不自由展 その後』の再開をもとめる全国集会 in なごや ). It is organized by the Aichi Prefecture Citizens Committee To Demand the Reinstatement of the “Lack-of-Freedom-of-Expression Exhibit: Part II” (“Hyōgen no fujiyūten: sono go” no Saikai wo Motomeru Aichi Kenmin no Kai).
It will be held the day after the UN International Day of Peace. Everyone, please join us that day and show the world that government and ultranationalist censorship of political art is not acceptable, that everyone has the right to speak and listen, to produce art and see art, etc., as long as they do not do something that leads to violence or to the injuries of others, such as yelling "fire" in a crowded movie theater. The Statue of the Girl of Peace was never intended to be anti-Japanese. It is for world peace and for protecting the human rights of women and girls. Nagoya is only a 35-minute train ride from Kyoto, and 100 minutes from Tokyo, so please join us!
