2020's Multifaith Service for Peace, in collaboration with the Princeton University Chapel, will be held on Sunday, November 15, starting at 11 a.m EST.
The service may occur at the Princeton University Chapel in person, or be conducted virtually.
Our preacher this year will be The Rev. Dr. Chloe Breyer, the Executive Director of the Interfaith Center of New York (ICNY).
Since 2007, the Rev. Dr. Chloe Breyer has directed ICNY and worked with hundreds of grassroots religious leaders from diverse faith traditions to catalyze partnerships with civic officials and resolve social problems plaguing New York City. Issues of shared concern have included police reform, immigration concerns, and combating anti-Semitism and Islamaphobia. An Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of New York, Chloe also serves as Associate Priest at St. Philip’s Church in Harlem. Chloe is the author of The Close: A Young Woman’s First Year at Seminary (Basic Books 2000) with chapter contributions to What Can One Person Do? Faith to Heal a Broken World (Church Publishing 2005) and Challenging the Christian Right From the Heart of the Gospel (Beacon Press 2006). Her articles have appeared in The New York Daily News, Slate, The Huffington Post, and the International New York Times. Her Ph.D. in Christian Ethics is from Union Theological Seminary where she wrote, “Against Islamaphobia: Interfaith Activism as Christian Peacemaking” (2017).
