Mayors for Peace, founded in 1982 and led by the Mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, is working for a world without nuclear weapons, safe and resilient cities, and a culture of peace, in which peace is a priority for every individual. As of February 1, 2023, Mayors for Peace has grown to 8,237 cities in 166 countries and territories, representing in total over one billion people. With 223 U.S. members, Mayors for Peace has set a goal of reaching 10,000 member cities as quickly as possible. Can we recruit 50 new U.S. members this year? Join this webinar with Jackie Cabasso on February 23 at 7:00pm ET to learn more about Mayors for Peace and how you can get involved in municipal diplomacy.

Jackie Cabasso has been Executive Director of the Western States Legal Foundation, based in California, since 1984. In 1995 she was a "founding mother" of the Abolition 2000 Global Network to Eliminate Nuclear Weapons, where she continues to serve on its Coordinating Committee. Jackie also serves as a National Co-convener of United for Peace and Justice. She was the 2008 recipient of the International Peace Bureau's Sean MacBride Peace Award. Since 2007 she has served as North American Coordinator for Mayors for Peace.
