Curious to learn more about Extinction Rebellion Ithaca? Ready to dive in and get involved in organizing? This is your chance! We are hosting a Welcome meeting to give folks a chance to dive a little deeper into Extinction Rebellion Ithaca.

As with so many things, 2020 and the Covid pandemic demobilized our actions. Sadly, climate change hardly skipped a beat.

In order to make the necessary large scale systemic changes, we need a huge movement of people who are listening to the earth as she tells us that change is not optional. There are now enough people who know that this is true and are willing to act, this is true all around the world. Extinction Rebellion brings to this a systemic perspective and a willingness to engage in and support nonviolent direct action.

Whether you can show up to a mass gathering once a year, or are ready to become a full time activist with a growing arrest record, we invite you join us in whatever way feels safe for you.

At this Welcome meeting, we will discuss the 4 Demands (how we describe ourselves to the world), the 9 Principles (how we organize internally, and how we treat each other), then spend some time talking about different ways you can participate, based on your individual interests and strengths.
