A Facing Racism Alumni Workshop, open to all!

Recent Facing Racism cohort participants are highly encouraged to attend as a supplement to the Facing Racism program.

Join us for an enlightening workshop focused on supporting Black women colleagues in the workplace.

As white and non-Black allies, it's crucial to understand the challenges faced by Black professionals, especially Black women, and to actively work towards creating inclusive and equitable environments where they are seen, valued, and heard.

In this interactive session, we'll explore workplace dynamics and delve into the impact of anti-Blackness and gender bias. We’ll discuss practical strategies for fostering allyship and supporting the development and amplification of the voices of Black women colleagues and leaders. Through interactive activities, thought-provoking exercises, and vibrant discussions, you'll gain insights into the intersecting identities of your Black women colleagues and learn how to create inclusive spaces where Black women can thrive in their authenticity, voices, and leadership.

This workshop is not just about individual growth; it's about collective action toward Black becoming. By building meaningful relationships, advocating for systemic change, and actively supporting the advancement of Black women professionals, you'll contribute to creating workplaces where everyone can thrive. Whether you're seeking to enhance your allyship skills or looking for practical ways to support your Black women colleagues, this workshop offers a space for engaging dialogue, joyful learning, and collaboration.

Together, let's uplift and empower each other as we work towards a future where all individuals, including Black women, can flourish in their professional pursuits.

The three main objectives of Facing Racism Alumni programming are to:

  • To provide a sacred space for former Facing Racism participants to reflect on and share about their personal and communal experiences to end anti-Black racism.
  • To offer additional facilitation toward education around ending anti-Black racism.
  • To counter white supremacy by integrating celebration and joy into personal and collective anti-Black racism work.

Our 2024 organizational theme is “FORTIFY”, we are hosting  workshops, experiences, portals that help us strengthen our minds, bodies and spirits. We hope to cultivate spaces to honor our becomings while preparing sacred spaces for us to conceal and emerge from our cocoons again and again and again. If our movement is centered on love, then we want these workshops to show our community how love is our strongest tool for constructing a reality where Black Beloveds are celebrated, protected, and seen in full.
