West Depwade Action Day Sat 10 June
Start: Saturday, June 10, 2023•11:00 AM
End: Saturday, June 10, 2023• 3:00 PM
A by-election for Norfolk County Council has been called for the 13th July in West Depwade . This is a valuable opportunity both to get another Green voice on the Norfolk County Council and to kick-start the campaign to get Adrian Ramsay elected as the region's next MP.
West Depwade is made up of 16 villages between Diss and Wymondham, and this Action Day will focus on Shelfanger, a small village a 10 min drive (20 min bike ride) north of Diss. Diss is easily reached by train, just a few minutes away from Norwich.
We will meet in front of All Saints' Church in Shelfanger, where we'll divide into groups and do a short canvassing briefing. For those who prefer not to canvass, leafleting is an option. Please bring a packed lunch as the village does not have a pub or café. They do, however, have open garden events this weekend, so there should be plenty of people and plenty to see for any garden enthusiasts.
Other villages in West Depwade include Bressingham, Burston, Alsacton, Ashwellthorpe, Forncett, Winfarthing, Tibenham, Dickleburgh and the Tivetshalls. 13 of these villages are in the Waveney Valley constituency where Adrian Ramsay is a national Green Party target for MP. So this is a crucial campaign both for Norfolk County Council and our prospects of gaining another MP!
