Women are mobilizing in action to lead marches and protests in which all are welcome to participate on the day following the inauguration, Saturday January 21st. The biggest event is to be held in Washington, DC and sister events will be held around the USA and around the world in an international day of solidarity.

We, American expatriates living in Buenos Aires alongside our Argentinian sisters and brothers, are adding our voices to this chorus.

We wish to make known that hateful and divisive speech and actions are not acceptable from anyone, and even less from our elected governors. We wish to announce our support for minority groups whose rights and safety are threatened by the policies and principles of this new administration in the USA and by oppressive and exclusive policies around the world.

Our guiding principle:
We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. We must create a society in which women - including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women - are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments free from structural impediments.

Las mujeres nos estamos movilizando en acción para llevar a cabo marchas y protestas (en las que tod@s son bienvenid@s) el día siguiente a la inauguración, el sábado 21 de enero. La movilización más grande tiene lugar en Washington, DC y eventos hermanos habrán en todo EEUU y en todo el mundo, en un día internacional de solidaridad.

Nosotr@s, expatriad@s estadounidenses que vivimos en Buenos Aires, junto a nuestr@s herman@s argentinos, estamos sumando nuestras voces al coro.

Queremos declarar que ni el discurso odioso ni las acciones divisivas son aceptables de la parte de nadie, y menos aún de nuestros gobernadores electos. Queremos anunciar nuestro apoyo a los grupos en menoria cuyos derechos y seguridad están amenazados por las políticas y principios de esta nueva administración de EEUU y por políticas opresivas y exclusivas en todo el mundo.

Nuestro principio fundamental:
"Creemos que los Derechos de la Mujer son Derechos Humanos y Derechos Humanos son Derechos de la Mujer. Debemos crear una sociedad en la cual las mujeres, incluidas las negras, las indigenas, las pobres, las inmigrantes, las musulmanas, las lesbianas y las transexuales, sean libres y se puedan cuidar y cuidar a sus familias, y ambientes saludables libres de impedimentos estructurales."
