Women's March Anniversary: Power To The Polls NE Ohio

Start: Saturday, January 20, 201811:00 AM

Let's do it again!! Make your plans to attend the second annual Women's March in Cleveland. Last year over 15,000 men, women, and children marched in solidarity against sexism and bigotry. Thousands of women, femmes and allies will come together again across the country to celebrate one year of resistance and to launch our collective 2018 Women’s March agenda: Power to the Polls.

Ohio has recent experienced pressing issues facing women in our nation today, from opioid addiction to anti-abortion legislation. This anniversary event will kick-off a national voter registration and mobilization tour. We want to engage impacted communities, harness our collective energy to advocate for policies and candidates that reflect our values and collaborate with our partners to elect more women and progressives candidates to office.

We will meet at Public Square in Cleveland at 11 a.m. with guest speakers from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. At 1 p.m. we will begin our march up Ontario St. eventually arriving at City Hall/Willard Park and then circle back to Public Square. Then, we will end the event with a call to action and information to get involved.

At night there will be a "Power to the Polls" voter registration party with our Keynote speaker, and informational booths where you can learn how you can get more women elected to office.  This will be from 6 p.m. until  8 p.m. at an indoor location to be announced soon!

We will have music, voter registration, and anti-gerrymandering/redistricting petition signature collection before the march. Feel free to come for some or all of it!

We suggest using RTA if you can. Go to http://www.riderta.com/routesfor detailed information. Parking will be available near Public Square but may be costly or crowded. Also check the comments on our event page for those looking to carpool from surrounding areas.
