Women's March - Charleston, West Virginia
Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017• 1:00 PM
The Women’s March on Washington has inspired nearly 300 other ‘Sister Marches’ to take place on January 21st. All 50 states and Puerto Rico are confirmed to have at least one grassroots-led march on that day, as well as 55 global cities on six continents, from Tokyo to Sydney, Kenya to Paris to Bogotá. Women from all across the globe are organizing to stand together in solidarity.
On January 21st thousands of people will gather at the nation's Capitol in Washington, DC to reaffirm the core American values of freedom and democracy for all. For those who cannot make it to DC, a sister march here at our state Capitol will send a powerful message of unity.
Please join us for this unprecedented grassroots movement as we send a unified message that we will fight for our rights, our health, our safety, and our communities. EVERYONE is welcome to attend this event. Our goal is to have at least 100 people in attendance. We will gather on the steps (riverside) of the Capitol, we will march around the Capitol complex, and reconvene to hear from a few speakers. Lets show the rest of the world how unified and strong West Virginia is with a powerful turnout.
