~: Respect. Equality. Peace. :~
This gathering is open to everyone who stands for human rights, equality, civil liberties, tolerance of diversity, and compassion for our shared humanity.
We will join together in solidarity with people in the United States, and around the globe, who are marching on January 21, 2017, the day after the US Inauguration, to show we will not accept hate, intolerance and acts of violence. We recognize that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of the United States, and beyond, including The Bahamas.
The rhetoric of the past US election cycle has been very negative. In the spirit of democracy and support, together, we will stand with those in the US and around the world to send a message to the US leaders, and new government on their first day in office -- along with our own local government -- that we stand for values of human decency, equal rights and freedom from discrimination.
We call on all defenders of human rights to join us in this event. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.
Will you join us?
