Women's March on Doylestown, PA (Family & Ally Friendly!)

Start: Saturday, January 21, 201711:00 AM

Bring the kids, bring the neighbors! All are welcome. Join us in Doylestown for one of nearly 400 sister marches happening on Saturday, January 21 in solidarity with the historic Women's March on Washington.

We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country.

Can't get to the national march in DC or nearby marches in Philly or Trenton on Saturday, January 21? March with us in Doylestown, PA! We'll meet at State & Main (in front of Starbucks at 10 N. Main) at 11am. We'll gather, then march on the sidewalks through town to the Courthouse (Court and Main) for a short rally and back to Starbucks. Stroller friendly route.

PARKING:
Here is a link to a map of some suggested locations in addition to our street metered parking and paid lot locations (All take quarters - from 9-5pm Mon-Sat). The largest free parking is at Bucks County Parking Garage (free 24 hrs/day) - 10 minute walk to our march.

Doylestown is accustomed to having hundreds and even thousands of visitors for regular events like festivals, parades and rallies/protests. There is ample parking, but we suggest you allow for a little extra time to find a spot and possibly walk a few blocks to our march starting point.

BUS/TRAIN: SEPTA 55 bus line stops immediately in front of the march starting location. SEPTA Regional Rail - take Doylestown/Lansdale line to the end - walk approx 6 blocks to the march (10 minute walk).

SAFETY: Keep in mind a few things as we march on Doylestown together on Saturday: organizers are in touch with our local police, who will help with public safety and firmly protecting our constitutional rights. Stay on sidewalks, avoid blocking driveways and streets, follow traffic lights, watch out for our little ones throughout and help clean up signs and song sheets. Also, have fun, speak out, make friends and unite for social justice and beloved community!!

There are always a handful of haters who holler at peaceful protesters in Doylestown. Think about what you will you do or say. Ignore or respond with a coherent bold message - consider your stand and response. Please keep in mind this march is kid inclusive - meaning... be bold, be loud, but don't be mean. Our children are watching

SOCIAL MEDIA: Please use #WhyIMarch and #WomensMarchDtown for social media posts! It will be linked to the national march so get your photos, signs and videos up there during and after our march!

VISITING DOYLESTOWN: There are so many great restaurants and stores in Doylestown Borough! Enjoy some great food and community before or after the march if you are interested. Destination Doylestown is supporting our march: https://www.facebook.com/DestinationDoylestown/

SIGN MAKING: Please join us on eve of the inauguration, Thursday, January 19th at Doylestown Borough Hall where local group, Showing Up For Racial Justice, is hosting SIGN MAKING fun for the Women's Marches at their monthly meeting (6:30-8:30pm). Bring poster board, foam board or other surfaces to make signs with, glitter glue or decorations and bold color wide markers! Or a small donation to use our materials.
