Women's March on Washington- "Sister Rally" in Watertown, NY

Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017 1:00 PM

End: Saturday, January 21, 2017 3:00 PM

All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church (Watertown) and the American Association of University Women (Jefferson County branch) have partnered to bring a "Sister Rally" to Watertown in solidarity with the Women's March on Washington on January 21, 2017.  The non-partisan rally, consisting of performers and speakers, will take place indoors at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church.  The mission of the rally is "to bring people (women, men, girls and boys) together to take a stand on issues that deeply impact all of us.  The rally will seek to reaffirm the core American values of freedom and democracy for all at a time when many fear that their voices will be lost, specifically voices related to women's rights, refugee and immigration rights, worker rights, reproductive rights, LGBTQIA rights, environmental rights, rights for all races, and religious freedom."  The rally is open to the public and free.  If you are an individual, group or organization interested in speaking or performing at the rally, the organizing committee welcomes your proposal-- contact micklega@aol.com.  Additionally, the committee welcomes proposals of a personal nature-- personal testimonies, stories, experiences, readings that convey an individual's feelings and/or point of view, etc.  Spread the word! Check back regularly for further information and updates.
