Women's March - Palm Beach, FL
Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017•12:00 PM
South Florida Activism would like to invite you to join us in solidarity with the Women's March on DC and the sister events happening in cities across the globe.
Date: Saturday, January 21st, 2017
Time: Noon - 4 P.M.
Location: Meyer Amphitheater, 104 Datura St, West Palm Beach, FL 33401
Parking: There are several parking garages available in the area. We recommend either the Clematis parking garage at Clematis and US1, or the Banyan parking garage located at 200 Banyan Blvd. Both are approximately an 8 minute walk from the event. Please try to carpool if possible.
Alternate Transportation: Tri-Rail stops at the West Palm Beach station. From there it is about a 5 minute car ride to the event. We recommend using Uber or Lyft. Additionally, Palm Tran Route 1 goes directly past the location.
What To Bring: Please feel free to bring signs, banners, flags, drums, other non-amplified instruments, relevant literature to distribute, drinking water, snacks, and weather appropriate attire. If you have mobility issues or trouble standing for long periods of time, you may consider bringing a folding chair.
Speakers: Currently we are working on securing more speakers. At this time we are pleased to announce Florence Mascott, former WW2 WASP (Women's Air Force Service Pilot) as our first speaker. Speakers will begin at 1 P.M. and each address the crowd for aproximately 5 minutes.
A Request from the Organizers: This is one of many events we have had in this location, and we are so grateful to the WPB Police department for their presence during our rallies. It's important to us that we maintain a positive relationship with the men and women of our law enforcement. As such, we ask you all to be kind and courteous to the officers, and compliant with their requests in so far as they do not infringe on our rights. They have asked that we not hang signs, flags, or other items over the road, nor should we at any time block the road way or the sidewalk. Absolutely no violent or destructive behavior will be tolerated.
RSVP: It is not necessary to RSVP for this event, but we ask that you do if possible. The event is absolutely free, and no ticket or other admission is necessary.
