Womens March Pompton Plains
Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017•11:00 AM
In concert with the Women’s March on Washington, a group of Pequannock residents concerned about the future of our country, plan to demonstrate in the parking lot of the Municipal Parking lot in Pequannock on Saturday, January 21from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Although the largest march is scheduled to take place in Washington, many cities nationwide are holding their own rallies on the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration. This local rally is spearheaded by a group of senior citizens from a local retirement community who want to send a strong message to the incoming administration that millions of people across this country are prepared to fight for social justice, civil and human rights.
According to Pat Thaler, 84 years old, one of the organizers of the demonstration and a resident of Pompton Plains, “We support the March on Washington but some of us are unable to travel to D.C. for health or other reasons. We decided to express our concerns in our own community. Men and women, young and old, who care about the future of our country are invited to join us.”
