Women`s Solidarity Stroll - Chetumal, Mexico
Start: Saturday, January 21, 2017• 9:00 AM
Dear sisters- We may all have a unique reason for wanting to gather together and walk in the company of others in remembrance, in hope, in solidarity with a specific cause- Our unifying call is:
"Women’s rights are human rights, regardless of a woman’s race, ethnicity, religion, immigration status, sexual identity, gender expression, economic status, age or disability. We practice empathy with the intent to learn about the intersecting identities of each other... We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all." Our solidarity here in Chetumal must respect our limitations as visitors in this country and so we will not be officially "marching" nor carrying signs. Our intent is to enjoy the company of one another as we stroll and contemplate either in silence or in constructive dialogue the challenges we all face as part of the human rights advocacy community.
We will meet in front of Italian Coffee at the DOME at the PARK of DOS MULAS on the boulevard at 9:00am and stroll about 3km=2 miles to end at Winner`s Cafe near the Monumento al Pescador. (Those who wish to shorten the walk can meet us at 9:20 at El Faro-The Lighthouse, or meet us at the Cafe!) Any questions or concerns please feel free to email me! bluedove80@hotmail.com
