World Health Systems with Dr. Anand Bhat

Ever wonder how health systems work in other countries? Ever wonder why the United States has the most expensive health care system in the world? Do you want to change health care for the better?

Anand Bhat MD, MSc (Lond) FACP will be talking about the four major health systems in the world - how they work and how much they cost. After the presentation, we will talk about the nationwide movement for a Medicare for All system and how the United States could finally create an affordable, universal, and just health system.

Dr. Bhat is a physician specializing internal medicine. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas Medical Branch, he studied health policy, planning, and finance at the London School of Economics and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and pursued internal medicine training at Case Western MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Bhat was also a national leader for the American Medical Student Association. He has experience with lobbying at state and federal governments with organized medicine. He was a Bernie Sanders delegate representing Cleveland, Ohio to the Democratic National Convention in 2016, serving with state senator Nina Turner.
