The Worker Solidarity Network needs you.
As summer ends, we once again risk forgetting the heat domes, the wildfires, the smoke and extreme heat, all that workers have been struggling with due to the climate crisis.
As the weather cools and winter approaches, we cannot allow ourselves to forget that the extreme heat workers and communities faced will come again next summer. We cannot face another summer unprepared, and allow workers, our comrades, you and your friends to face all the risks that the extreme heat will bring.
Summer may be over but the worker struggle is not. At WSN, we are committed to continuing to push for our Too Hot to Work campaign; so that next summer, when we face heat domes once more and wildfires again rage in our province, workers are a little more prepared, a little more protected.
To that end, we need YOU to help us keep up the momentum. We need you to join us, and help us fight for the protections you deserve.
Join us, on October 2nd, 4:30pm to 5:00pm for a half hour Too Hot to Work Action Hour. At this action, you will get to meet other workers and community members who have signed our Too Hot to Work letter, taken an action related to Too Hot to Work, or otherwise ready to step up and push for the protections you deserve. Together, we will take action and call all the powers-that-be to demand Too Hot Protections for workers who will continue to struggle under extreme heat. We will also discuss how else you can continue to push for Too Hot to Work, and invite you to our next actions.
We may not be able to turn back the clock on climate change, but if we organize - we can still build a world where we can weather it while keeping our communities, our people as safe and as well-equipped as possible. We can still protect and safeguard our loved ones, and our people.
We need you. The workers' movement needs you. We hope to see you there
