To celebrate the upcoming International Women’s Day, the Young Green Womxn Committee have organised a week’s worth of events that we would love you to attend!

We have some brilliant and inspiring guest speakers who will be discussing their experiences and advice in politics and feminism. You can also keep an eye on our social media accounts to find some wellbeing-focused craft activities.

International Women’s Day

Monday 8th March, 7:00pm

On International Women’s Day itself, we will be hosting a collaboration event with Green Party Women, with a focus on #ChooseToChallenge, the theme of International Womens Day 2021.

How Womxn Are Treated in Public Life

Wednesday 10th March, 7:00pm

Cllr Hannah Clare will be starting off this session with a talk on womxn in the public eye, discussing her experience as a Councillor and Deputy Leader of the Brighton and Hove City Council.

We will also be hearing from the Young Women’s Trust about policy making and the charity itself. They campaign for gender equality in the workplace, and offer support to young women living on low or no pay who want to build a better future.

Ria Patel, Experiences of a Young Activist and Natalie Bennett, Fifty Years of Being a Feminist in a Neoliberal, Patriarchal World: Where Do We Go From Here?

Thursday 11th March, 7:00pm

We will begin the evening with Ria Patel, talking about their experiences in politics and points of view from other Green Party Liberation Groups.

The journalist, peer, and previous leader of the Green Party Natalie Bennett will be reflecting back to being a young feminist, and discussing what has changed since then.
