The City of Anaheim will be hosting Orange County's second ever Youth Climate Strike this December 6th, 2019. Students will be hosting an strike/art build the previous Friday, November 29th. The strike is geared towards building people power in the City of Anaheim and Orange County, as well as calling for Anaheim and Orange County leadership to move towards action on climate change. Youth Climate Strike Orange County demands that Anaheim and Orange County to follow in the steps of countries around the world as well as neighbouring cities in declaring climate emergency, establishing task forces to mitigate, and passing laws and policies that allow for a just transition centering around frontline communities.

With the consequences of climate change becoming ever more clear and dire with each passing day, a new powerful wave of the climate movement has been swelling up over the last couple of years. Young people around the world have been rising up to defend our future, and have been going on strike – every week, all over the planet – for months. In the September Climate Strikes alone, 7.6 million people took to the streets with us.

But our movement isn't going anywhere. Now, we are preparing for the next wave of Climate Strikes.
