Are you a Black person in the U.S.?

In order to give Black people an opportunity to speak for ourselves, the Black Census Project will conduct the largest national survey of Black people across class, disability, gender, geography, immigration status, and sexuality. The information gathered from the Black Census Survey will be used to identify priority issues for the Black community, inform public policy, and shape an agenda created for Black people by Black people.

This project is led by the Black Futures Lab who works with Black people to transform our communities, building Black political power and changing the way that power operates—locally, statewide, and nationally. There are three ways that Black Futures Lab is a different kind of project for change: our mission to engage the Black community year-round, our commitment to use their political strength to stop corporate influences from creeping into public policies, and our plan to combine technology and traditional organizing methods to reach Black people anywhere and everywhere we are.
