In 2018, we'll be launching our No Fossil Fuel Money Campaign through a series of simple steps that we spread far and wide, to bring hundreds more young people into this movement. Check out Step 3: Build Your Team. You'll see that once you've done steps 1-3, you can request a training to "level up" your local team into an official Sunrise hub through a 2-day in person training. At these trainings, you'll learn about Sunrise’s strategy, our structure, and the story that keeps our whole movement moving forward together.

In order to ensure you have the on-the-ground capacity needed to help us bring a training to you, you'll have to do a few things first.

Before submitting a request to host a local training...

• Build your team according to the No Fossil Fuel Money campaign magazine

• Take action in the public as part of Sunrise at least once (through making your voice heard at a townhall or candidate event, delivering a letter, or any other creative action you can think of)

• Pick a weekend at least 6-8 weeks into the future

• Recruit at least 2 additional people from your community to be a part of the training "Host Team" with you (more on the Host Team below)

• Recruit at least 30 people who would like to attend the training and are available that weekend

What is the host team? The host team is a group of 3-4 people living in the city/region that is requesting a training. It should be made up of young people who have participated in the No Fossil Fuel Money Campaign so far, who have attended a Sunrise training, or who are interested in getting involved and ready to put in work to make it happen.

What is the host team responsible for? Logistics (including space, materials, food, housing, travel, and money), and recruitment of participants (making a Facebook event, phone and text-banking, or using any other methods to recruit between 15 and 30 people to attend the training).
