Call your senators and tell them to include schools, job training, broadband internet, and green infrastructure priorities in the upcoming budget reconciliation bill to make a bold investment in our country’s future.

All around our nation, the local public school is the place where our children learn and play together, identify their passions and grow into the citizens of the future. Yet today, too many aging school buildings are crumbling. Too many students try to study in unhealthy classrooms and are suffering from the health impacts of bad ventilation or contaminated water. And that was all before the COVID crisis. It is clear that it is time for a substantial investment in the nation's public school infrastructure that is funded by ensuring that the ultra-wealthy and corporations pay their fair share.

It is critical that Congress comes together to invest in our nation's public school buildings by including the Reopen and Rebuild America’s Schools Act as part of the reconciliation package, as well as state and local tax deductions that adequately fund public services such as education. Whether we are building new schools, modernizing technologies or retrofitting existing buildings with needed and climate smart upgrades, investing in our school buildings is a non-partisan investment in our children and our future. All our children should be able to attend schools that are in safe, clean, well taken care of buildings that boast of modern energy systems, up to date technology and reliable connectivity.
