Call for an end to the death penalty!
The death penalty is an irreversible and unjust punishment that violates human rights.
Innocent people have been wrongly convicted and executed. It does not deter crime and perpetuates violence instead of promoting justice and rehabilitation. A modern, civilized society must focus on more humane and effective ways of achieving justice.
The death penalty is also applied disproportionately to marginalized populations, revealing systemic flaws and bias in the criminal justice system.
The death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment, and it violates the right to life and the right to live free from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment protected under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the UN in 1948.
It’s time to end the death penalty. Sign the petition calling for the abolition of this outdated and inhumane practice.
