Call Your Senators & Ask them to Condemn The Violence on Gaza

Over the past 2 weeks, 31 Palestinian protesters have been killed and hundreds more have been wounded in Gaza — shot by Israeli troops for doing nothing more than demanding their freedom and an end to the Occupation.

The American Jewish establishment has either remained silent or condoned the violence towards Palestinian protesters -- and in turn, our U.S. politicians have, for the most part, not spoken out on this issue. Young Jews across the country are asking, “How many more Palestinians have to be killed or wounded before our community condemns the violence on Gaza?”

After 9 members of IfNotNow were arrested at Senator Dianne Feinstein’s office in San Francisco, she made a statement condemning the violence -- but we know we have to go further. Bernie Sanders is currently circulating a letter to Congresspeople to ask them to join him and a small number of other Democratic politicians who have condemned the violence in Gaza.

As American Jews, it is our responsibility to show our elected officials that the American Jewish community does not stand for the violence on Gaza. We must demand our congress people speak up and be the progressive leaders we need.

Starting on Monday, April 16th, Jews all across the country are going to call their Senators this week and urge them to condemn the IDF’s excessive use of force against Palestinian protesters in Gaza.

Pledge to take action to stop the violence in Gaza, this week and in the long term.

The violence on Gaza is not an isolated incident. It is a direct symptom of over 50 years of Occupation, and we know that as the Great Return March continues and we anticipate the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, that violence will continue.

Beyond responding to these moments of urgency as they unfold in Israel/Palestine, we need to organize a mass movement to end our community’s support for the occupation and fight for the soul of the American Jewish community.

That’s why we’re mobilizing thousands of Jews who believe that all people, Israelis and Palestinians, should live with basic freedom and dignity.
