REIMBURSEMENTS: Available for reasonable travel
HOURS: 8-10 hours per week for directors, flexible for campaigners dependent on work, life, commitements etc
LOCATION: Anywhere in Australia
Democracy in Colour's campaign team is looking for:
- 2x Campaign Directors
- Rapid Response Campaigner
- Digital Campaigner

Who is Democracy in Colour?
Democracy in Colour is a national racial and economic justice organisation led by people of colour. We are run by volunteers who make campaigns that tackle structural racism, empower people of colour to shape policy discussions that affect our lives and build the capacity in our communities.

- Reshape the way advocacy campaigns engage communities of colour - less victim narratives and saviour complexes, and more agency and leadership from affected communities.
What do our campaigners work on?
From Marriage Equality to religious rights or fairer employment laws, as a Democracy in Colour campaigners you will be responsible in designing, planning and executing campaigns to empower communities of colour in Australia. We innovate new strategies and tactics that enable communities of colour to have a real impact on policy, politics, corporations, society and elections. This means outreach and engagement in our own communities and analysing political trends specifically affecting communities of colour.
We're looking for people with ...
- Deep passion for racial justice and a world where the inherent worth and dignity of everyone is recognised
- Understanding of racial justice theory and the politics around race/racism in Australia
- Excellent analytical skills
- Are an independent and self-starting with a resilient, solutions focussed approach and an open mind
- Experience working in campaigns
- Ability to develop and lead impactful and innovative campaign strategies with experience in strategy development, campaign design and political strategy
- Strong written and oral communication skills - the ability to convey complex issues in simple, engaging terms that make sense to everyday people, grab attention and inspire participation
- The ability to intentionally develops leadership in others
- Can take and give feedback well - always tells the truth about performance
