Cosecha Vows to Fight for Permanent Protection as the Next Step in the Immigrant Right’s Movement
Cosecha calls for a change of direction in the fight for immigrant’s rights. Having exhausted our political options, it is time to use our economic and labor power through large scale non-cooperation.

Boston, MA - In light of the Supreme Court’s split decision (4-4), which effectively blocks DAPA, a program that would benefit over 4 million undocumented immigrants, the Cosecha Movement calls on the need to fight for permanent protection. In times of a possible Trump presidency, Cosecha believes that permanent protection for all undocumented immigrants is the only way to provide responsible relief for undocumented families.

“This summer, the immigrant rights movement celebrates 10 years since mega marches in favor of immigration reform. It is a shame that 10 years later the Congress, the President, and even the Supreme Court have not be able to provide a permanent solution for millions of undocumented immigrants.  It is time for a change of strategy at the national level and we should ground ourselves in the economic and labor power of our immigrant communities to demand a halt to deportations and permanent protection for immigrants.” said Ileana Salinas, from Cosecha Arizona.

Cosecha is a new nonviolent movement that is fighting for permanent protection, dignity and respect for our immigrant community.  The Cosecha Movement is leading the country on a new solution for immigrant communities, which focuses around the need for permanent protection.  Cosecha believes that political parties are incapable of providing a humane and responsible solution to the issue of immigration under the current political climate.  This is why Cosecha focuses on activating the immigrant communities and its allies around the need for permanent protection.
