TO THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ONTARIO

WHEREAS frontline health care workers are forced to make the impossible decision of self-reporting COVID-19 exposure and suffering economic consequences as a result of unpaid isolation.

WHEREAS frontline health care workers risking their safety caring for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic are suffering financial hardship when forced into unpaid isolation.

WHEREAS frontline health care workers are reusing N95 respirators, masks, gloves, gowns and other personal protective equipment risking preventable exposure to COVID-19 due to an insufficient supply.

WHEREAS frontline healthcare workers are worried about potentially spreading COVID-19 to patients and family members as a result of a lack of proper PPE.

THEREFORE WE, the undersigned petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to ensure that frontline health care workers receive pay if they need to self-isolate for any COVID related reasons and are provided with a sufficient supply of proper personal protective equipment at all time while at work
