Director Venters STOP Union Busting - FCPD Lawyers Deserve a Union

Franklin County Public Defenders lawyers have overwhelmingly expressed their intent to unionize with a super majority of them signing union cards and standing in solidarity with each other. The employees went public with high hopes that they would have a willing partner in Franklin County Public Defenders’ Director Yeura Venters. They had hoped that management would not engage in union busting or cause unnecessary delays, recognize their union, and begin the collaborative process of addressing the real issues employees were facing every day.

Unfortunately, this has not been the case. The actions of Director Yeura Venters thus far have not been neutral, in fact the actions taken so far are textbook union busting. The FCPD Director has objected to every single attorney being eligible to participate in collective bargaining and join a union, He is obstructing their democratic right to hold a union election and vote for representation.

Now the super majority of pro union employees must wait months before a hearing is set by the State Employment Relations Board. These are unacceptable union busting tactics that should not continue in Franklin County. Take action today! Send a letter and make a call to the Franklin County Public Defenders Director Yeura Venters and urge him to stop delaying, stop union busting, and lift the absurd objections so that employees can vote. Click on the button to begin taking action.
