• District I is majority renters. 57% of homes occupied in District I are occupied by renters.
• 55% of renters in District I experience one or more of the following: spending more than 30% of their income on rent, inadequate plumbing or kitchen, or overcrowding.
• 48% of renters spend more than 30% of their monthly income on rent.
• One-quarter of renters spend more than half of their monthly income on rent.
• 74% of District I’s housing units were built before 1980.
