In May, the House of Representatives passed the HEROES Act, which would provide more than $1 trillion to states and communities to help fund vital public services, assist working families affected by COVID-19, give educators the resources they need to reopen schools safely, and more. But for months, Mitch McConnell refused to hold a vote on the bill. Instead, he proposed his own bill, the HEALS Act, a woefully inadequate relief package with fewer resources.
