The Progressive Caucus Action Fund calls on Congress to pass a coronavirus relief package that helps everyone in the U.S., regardless of immigration or tax status, age, disability status, or location. We need a response that advances racial and economic equality and lasts the duration of this public health and economic crisis.

Preventing layoffs: Congress should include the Paycheck Guarantee Act and expand work sharing, protecting workers’ jobs, paychecks, and employer-provided benefits. Money must go to workers and small businesses, not to CEOs and Wall Street.
Providing additional financial relief: This includes monthly direct cash assistance, increased SNAP benefits, student debt cancellation, consumer and small business debt relief, and housing protections.
Protecting public health: Congress must include an Essential Worker Bill of Rights. States and local governments require additional aid to continue providing vital services. We must also protect the most vulnerable in our communities, including the incarcerated.
Strengthening our democracy: Congress must enact a federal mandate and provide additional funding to ensure that all federal elections allow people to vote at home while maintaining access to in-person voting.
