Lorenzo's Top 3 Issues
Education- The public schools within my district are nationally ranked and something that we, as a community, are very proud of. Yet, a bill that was supposed to fix school finance has lowered the expectations of a raise for teachers and faces uncertainly this next legislative cycle. I am fighting to protect local control over school districts and policies, while making sure our teachers are getting paid what they deserve.
Healthcare- Healthcare is a human right, not a privilege for the economically-advantaged. Healthcare should prioritize our health, not profit. That's why I support the Healthy Texas Act, which will create a single-payer system, leaving no one uninsured.
Green infrastructure- We are in a climate crisis and some of this harm to our planet is irreparable. If we invest in green infrastructure, we are investing in our environment as well as making social and economic investments.
