Freedom Church of the Poor: sign up to stay in touch!

Sign up to join Freedom Church of the Poor for our upcoming season, Days Of Liberation (April 7th - May 19th).

Freedom Church gathers online every Sunday at 6pm ET | 5pm CT | 3pm PT via zoom and other social media platforms. Also, every Wednesday at 6pm ET | 5pm CT | 3pm PT we host bible study.

About this season: The story of Jesus’ death and resurrection is the story of the state execution of an insurrectionist, which ends in the triumph of God and life over the powers of death and destruction. This story of resurrection recalls the history of the Israelite people in the Exodus and other passages of liberation and salvation. In the season of “The Days of Liberation,” we celebrate organized movements of the poor from the Bible, throughout history, and today; movements where the poor have been victorious over the forces of oppression and death.

The Freedom Church of the Poor is a space of worship and community, but also a community committed to exposing and challenging the ways the Bible and religion have been used to justify empire, divide and dehumanize people, and blame the poor for their poverty. Finally, it is a place to connect communities, develop moral leadership, and get organized.
