Fujitsu: Don't ruin the career of an Apprentice over a minor admin issue!
A young Fujitsu apprentice had his career with Fujitsu cut short by management in the Microsoft Delivery and Enablement Department.
The apprentice who’s worked for Fujitsu since Autumn 2022 made an honest mistake in an expense claim procedure which was initially agreed by his line manager then flagged in later checks before any payment was made.
Both the manager and the apprentice were responsible for the mistake (the apprentice for making the error and the manager for signing it off) however instead of holding an informal chat with them both, senior management sacked the apprentice!
The apprentice at the start of a career in IT, for which he has worked diligently:
- cannot complete the university degree which is tied to his apprenticeship
- will struggle to get another responsible job with 'gross misconduct dismissal' on his record
- potentially will have his earnings potential affected for many years
- cannot claim Job Seekers allowance for 13 weeks
Having his career with Fujitsu and his degree cut short, obviously has also had a psychological impact on him and his family and friends (including colleagues in Fujitsu).
Please sign in the STRICTEST of confidence to ask Fujitsu management to give our apprentice colleague his life back!
