We can stop a famine in Gaza. Call on Pres. Biden to pressure the Israeli government to increase aid now.

Today in Gaza people are starving to death. Before the war, at least 10,000 trucks carried food to Gaza each month. That number has plummeted to just over 11,000 total since the conflict began over five months ago.

This stark reduction has dire consequences for the people of Gaza, where thousands now queue for a bowl of lentil soup amid acute shortages of flour, rice, and other staples. Adults are skipping meals to help, but nothing can stop children from going to bed with their stomachs aching and empty.

It’s a heartbreaking situation, but it doesn’t have to be. As Executive Director of the UN World Food Programme Cindy McCain recently pointed out, “People in Gaza risk dying of hunger just miles from trucks filled with food.”

The Israeli government’s blockade and restrictions on aid are pushing Gazans toward a catastrophic famine. This dire, deteriorating situation is entirely avoidable -- and the WFP, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the World Health Organization have identified four key actions that could help save lives now:

  • >Open new entry routes;
  • Allow more trucks through border checks each day;
  • Ensure fewer restrictions on the movement of humanitarian workers; and
  • Guarantee the safety of people accessing and distributing aid.

Can you urge President Biden to use the full force of the U.S. government’s diplomatic influence to make them happen?

It's not just bombs and bullets that can kill — hunger and disease are equally lethal. Call on the president to do more today.

To President Biden:

A famine in Gaza is not a foregone conclusion. I urge you to do all you can to save lives by pressuring the Israeli government to open new entry routes, allow more trucks through border checks each day, ensure fewer restrictions on the movement of humanitarian workers, and guarantee the safety of people accessing and distributing aid.
