I want to get involved in the YES on QQ Campaign!
A vote for Oakland Youth
The Oakland Youth Vote coalition successfully organized and campaigned to get the Oakland City Council to place Youth Vote on the November ballot - which would give 16 and 17 year-olds the right to vote in School Board Elections! The measure passed unanimously by the City Council. Youth Vote is now Measure QQ and if it passes, Oakland will become the 6th city in the country to allow teens to vote!
Measure QQ will:
- Give 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote in School Board elections!
- Strengthen democracy by creating life-long voters and increasing voter turn-out
- Improve Oakland schools so all students graduate
