The $176+ million projected ($250+ million after interest) new tower to "consolidate" the Dane County Jail has been delayed again and again. Consultants and punishment system people are still claiming that the old CCB building is unsafe, but any jail is unsafe. [See Jimmie Lee Joshua's story.] We need to spend this money on the community, not cages!

The tower is still not built. We can still convince our county to change course, but it will be difficult.

There are so many things we can do with this money, instead.

So what can you do? You can contact your County Supervisor to let them know that we do not need this jail project to go any further, you can also check out this list of actions to take, and you can fill out the form to the right to join our action list to be alerted when jail-related resolutions are going to be before the county board and we need community members to turn out to give testimony.
