NHS workers have demanded that all non-essential work stops for the time being to save lives.

In spite of the lockdown, non-essential construction continues all over the country.

Construction workers are forced to work on sites where they cannot practice safe social distancing and lack PPE, in an industry which has a high accident rate in normal circumstances.  

They will have to travel for work and share facilities. They pass materials without sanitising surfaces. There are often no wash basins available. On big projects some live in crowded digs. They are having to put themselves and their families at risk. A lot of construction workers are now sick. Some have died.

Construction is a pandemic spreader.
